KJS Associates' Portfolio-and-Gallery Space

We create Digital Memories (tm).

Our portfolio of photographs will begin appearing, soon, in this gallery space.

The entries in each of the portfolios and galleries will be for licensing, rent, lease, or sale on an exclusive or non-exclusive basis. We are thinking that, except for "sale on an exclusive basis" we will retain ownership of the photograph. We will, except for an unusual exception, always retain ownership of a photograph's associated copyright.

LICENSE: Much like a software license. You will have the right to display the photograph but you cannot give, sell, auction, trade, etc. The license may be transferred to another entity if requested in writing. The "entity" must agree to the license. The photograph remains our property and will need to be returned to us when the license expires.

RENT: This means that you will have the right to display the photograph for the duration of the rental period; however you will be required to show you have replacement insurance for the rental period. The photograph remains our property. The photograph must be returned in good condition at the end of the rental period.

LEASE: Much like an automobile leasing arrangement. This means that you will have the right to display for a given period of time with a replacement warranty; or, a replacement guarantee for the lease period. The photograph must be returned in good condition at the end of the lease period.

SALE: This means you buy the photograph. The photograph does not have to be returned to us. You do not get ownership of the photograph's copyright. The photograph remains our intellectual property.

EXCLUSIVE: It means you are the only one that will have the right to display the photograph until your license, or contract expires.

NON-EXCLUSIVE: This means that others will have the right to display the photograph at the same time.

There are no gimmics, cookies, activeX controls, spyware, or nasty critters offered. We are a wholesome site that is operating as a small business. We want customers. We will do our best to demonstrate that we want each and everyone of our customers to return time and time again. So, give us a moment to get ready.

Our plan is to use the PDF format rather than .jpg. The pictures will have a impreceptable watermark to show that the photograph came from us. We will also probably use encryption techniques to make sure you get precisely what you have purchased - nothing additional and nothing less.
